2006. It started with an ambitious girl and a bloodline built for barbering.
Leslie & Jamar Wright come from a long lineage of barbering. Jamar knew that owning a salon was something that he wanted to do to help carry on the family story and educate his own daughters about where they come from. Jamar’s family was the first African American owned Barbershop in Richmond, IN that started in the 1950’s. Leslie actually grew up going to the salon side of the shop as a child to get her hair done! It wasn’t until junior high that she met and fell in love with her now partner in life — her very own Mr. Wright!
Revive started in 2006, with a prayer and a dream to someday help revive everyone that came through the doors; whether it be clients, staff or the community! Leslie & Jamar couldn’t come up with a name for the long awaited venture, but after several weeks of praying the name was delivered in one short word that kept jumping out at them in the Bible…revive! They are excited and love the name that God has given to them, because the meaning is: to give new strength or energy!
